Your Moment in History –

In the Heart of Downtown Austin.

Chateau Bellevue

Chateau Bellevue

Welcome to Chateau Bellevue, often called the “crown jewel” of historic  Austin mansions.

Also known as the North-Evans Chateau in historic preservation circles,  the mansion has been home of the Austin Woman’s Club since 1929. We are in the Bremond Block National Historic District in the heart of dynamic downtown Austin.

Built in 1874, Chateau Bellevue is romantic and elegant, with French Romanesque arches, beautiful courtyard grounds, a spacious ballroom, ornate hand carved woodwork and stunning stain glass windows.

Chateau Bellevue is a unique venue for all special occasions, including wedding events, corporate meetings and special parties – one your guests are sure to remember.

Our History

The mansion was built by Harvey and Catherine North in 1874. The Norths were new comers to Austin when construction began. It didn’t take long for Austin society to realize that the Norths were rich and cosmopolitan.
